Rays Have Second Winning Year. Joe Maddon Gets Pie.

Rays clinch second winning season
Rays manager Joe Maddon was interviewed on TV after the Rays’ win Wednesday, and while talking with Todd Kalas, received the old shaving cream pie in the face from catcher Dioner Navarro.

“I feel accepted,” Maddon said. “I finally feel a part of the team. Thank you, Navie.”

Navarro only caught his manager on the right side of his head.

“I heard him coming,” Maddon said.

Maddon said that was the instinct of feeling pressure, developed during his career as a high school quarterback.

“I think it’s part Navie moving the earth and the old quarterback move,” Maddon said.
