Maybe the Rays Lost 2004 Championship Only Because Other Teams' Players Were Not Playing Fair - Like David "Papi" Ortiz and Manny Ramirez

WHY NOT THE DEVIL RAYS in 2004? They weren't on "The List."

WITH EACH new revelation of a baseball star’s past use of a performance-enhancing drug, Red Sox fans’ hope that drugs would not cloud the team’s most recent World Series wins in 2004 and 2007 grew fainter and fainter. Yesterday’s New York Times report that both Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz are on a list of players who tested positive in 2003 for performance-enhancing drugs largely dashed that hope.

David Ortiz, acknowledged testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug in 2003 as he launched his golden era as one of the game’s premier power hitters.

Why can't the 2004 series be replayed? The TampaBay (then) Devil Rays who have no one on "The List" might well have been AL champions if the players taking performance-enhancing drugs can be taken out of the equation.
Let's replay 2004 with the guys who played fair.

Maybe the 2004 World Series trophy is nothing but a hologram.
