Phyllis Busansky [D] Running for Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections

Phyllis Busansky [D] former county commissioner will run against Republican Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections Buddy Johnson. Busansky is credited as the architect of the county's indigent health care program.
Busansky joins Democrat Lee P. Nelson [D], a project manager for a software development team at the Verizon Tech Center in Temple Terrace, in challenging Johnson.
It's time for a capable honest person in the Supervisor of Elections office for Hillsborough County.

Incumbent Buddy Johnson [R] has been characterized by former county attorney Ken Tinkler as temperamental, distrustful of his highest advisers and sometimes deceitful about office strategy.
During Johnson's tenure [he was a Jeb Bush appointee] a number of concerns have arisen:
  • giving a former employee a $24,000 gag deal.

Sticks of Fire: "Buddy Johnson Should be Canned."
