Hillsborough DEC Special Elections: Jan.22, 2008.

Hillsborough County Democrats are searching for new leadership after the abrupt resignation of the party's top two local officers.

On December 31, 2007 a "Letter to Members" from Acting Chairwoman, Rose Marie Varas announced:

It is with great sadness that I write this letter, however as you have heard by now your local HCDEC is facing a few challenges.

Special elections of new officers are scheduled for Jan. 22.
