Jennifer Faliero, Hillsborough School Board President "totally" needs to learn to read and speak at a more critical level. Faliero's characterization of a book she had not read as "repulsive" after a parent's complaints and Faliero's valleyspeak-- ""I totally agree with her" ---indicates a very low level of engagement.
The book, Just Listen, by Sarah Dessen was selected by the Florida Association of Media Educators as a recommended book to encourage Florida teens to read enjoyable, quality literature that will stimulate imagination, awaken curiosity, expand horizons, enhance verbal fluency, and foster critical thinking and a lifelong love for reading and learning.
