Democrat Christine Jennings will Run for FL-13 in 2008

“Today I am proud to announce that I will be a candidate for Congress in 2008,” Christine Jennings told a crowd of supporters in her hometown of Sarasota. “When I first decided to run, it was because I thought I could make a difference. And since November, I have done so.”

Jennings has been using the controversy to draw attention to national election reform and contends that she helped bring about an overhaul in Florida’s election systems that was enacted in May.

Democrat Christine Jennings announced Thursday that she will seek a rematch against Republican Rep. Vern Buchanan in Florida’s 13th Congressional District — even as she continues to contest an outcome in last November’s election that she charges was skewed by electronic voting machine errors.
